Chubby little guy!

Baby W is just all rolls. Rolls and rolls and rolls. And I just wanted to squeeze him throughout the whole session. He was such a little trooper and didn't complain much and even took a little nap. I loved how he always had this little surprised look on his face the whole time. He would look at me as if to say, "Why are you putting that big black thing in my face?" (my camera). We had fun and I can't wait until his 6 month shoot. He will look so cute sitting up all on his own.

Energy! Boy, I need it!

Three year olds have so much energy that I would love to bottle it up and take it with me for those times when I need a boost. Little Miss "C" was so enthusiastic and bubbly and really didn't stop for a minute. She is the proud big sister of a little guy that was happy to be wherever he was placed. He was just the cutest little guy and watched his sister whenever she was in the room. This family was just beautiful together and I enjoyed spending the short time I had with them and loved photographing their children.

Whew! I've finally have been able to slow down and take some time to look back on 2008. What a great year I had. I've had so many wonderful new and repeat clients that have made my job as a photographer so rewarding. So many families have welcomed me into their homes and lives and I appreciate them so much.

I have several new things in store for 2009 and I can't wait to share them with you. I'll be posting about these new things soon so keep checking back. I have a thing for chubby babies. I just love their fat little cheeks and their double chins. This little guy was just a cute little chunk. He was wide-eyed and strong. He could hold his head up really well even though he was only a few weeks old. He's going to be such a handsome little boy. Thanks to the "F" family for letting me photograph your sweet little one.

It's been a while since I posted to my blog. This is a crazy time of year and I've been so busy with sessions and everyday life. I've had quite a few sessions and wanted to share so you all can see what I've been doing this past month. I've had lots of calls for Christmas cards (which I love designing) that I haven't even had a chance to work on my own. My goal is to get pictures of my kids and a card designed in time to send out. I don't know. It may have to be a New Year's card though. We shall see!!

Well, we survived Disney!! The Black family returned all in one piece. What a blast! Four parks in five days was exhausting but well worth it. We stayed at the Contemporary right across from The Magic Kingdom. What a great hotel! We were so spoiled and would stay there again in a heart beat. Below are some pics from our vacation. These were all taken with my new Canon G9 point and shoot. I loved just taking snapshots all week. Enjoy!

Breakfast at Chef Mickey was a treat! The kids loved meeting each character and getting their autographs.

The Tower of Terror! What an intense ride. Everyone loved it except Davis. See the next image and you'll know what I mean.

Not happy! Davis was mad at us for making him ride the very scary Tower of Terror. I'm not sure he'll ever forgive us!

Dinner at Epcot's Merrekesh started out really good but as you can see here, it disintigrated quickly.

Beautiful Baby "A"

Miss "A" is one of my favorite little clients. I've been photographing her since she was born and always enjoy the time I get to spend with her and her family! She is such a little princess and is growing up to be a beautiful little girl. We had fun dressing up, reading books, playing the piano and riding her new, sparkly, pink tricycle. Thanks to the "R" family for allowing me photograph your sweet, baby girl.

This family was such fun. You can really tell they are close and love each other tons! Large family sessions are difficult sometimes but this family made it easy. The kids were so well behaved and just so darn cute. I hope you all enjoy your sneak peek.

Sneak Peek - Baby C

Another newborn!! I just love them. Baby C was so little and sweet and did such a good job at his photo session. He slept, ate, and then was so alert so we were able to get lots of different shots. Thanks to the "L" family for sharing this special time with me.

It was so good to see Baby H again. "H" and his family live in Florida and the last time I photographed him he was only 8 weeks old. He's grown so much but is still as beautiful as ever. I know you'll agree.

I've had quite a few newborns lately and I just love it! Since my children are older, I really enjoy photographing the itty, bitty ones. Baby C was just the best little guy. He slept through most of our session except right towards the end when he started sucking on any skin that was near by. We knew then that he was hungry. After a break, he went back to being so sweet again. Big Sis was there to help and get in on some pictures. She did great and was so proud of herself. Thanks to the "C" family for choosing me to capture Baby C's first days!

I had the joy of photographing my neighbor's son in their beautiful yard. "B" is a middle schooler and was such a natural (you know how middle schoolers just love to have their picture taken). He was very comfortable in front of the camera and made my job so easy. I enjoyed our short time together. Thanks "B"!

Sweet Baby K~

It was such a delight to photography Baby K. He was so sweet and content most of the time. He was a trooper, letting us put him in all kinds of poses and really never seemed to mind. At less than a week old, he was pretty much perfect!

Sneak Peek - Baby L

I have been photographing Baby L since he was 3 months old and he's just getting cuter and cuter as he grows. He is the most smiley baby and has this cute, deep, little giggle that makes me laugh every time I hear it. In this session, I finally got to meet and photograph Baby L's older siblings. They were all so sweet and helpful, especially since they had to give up their Saturday morning to get pictures taken. Thanks guys! You did awesome!

Sneak Peek - Expecting

I love maternity sessions!! I think it's because I know I will never be pregnant again and I get so excited for new mom's and dad's. This couple was just awesome to work with and we had a fun session. "A" was just beautiful and had the cutest "bump." Here are a few from our session. I can't wait to meet their new baby!!

My little slugger!

This post is a little more personal. My son (my youngest child) is a sports nut. He loves every sport but his all time favorite is baseball. This year, he played little league baseball and did a fantastic job. He was one of the teams best players and was just so enthusiastic about every play. In fact, his team was number one in the league in his age group (4-6 yrs). I love watching him. So here are some pictures I took of him at his last game. His position is pitcher (the coach actually pitches though) and many balls are hit his way.

Sweet Miss M

Miss M was just delightful. We became friends fast and enjoyed "playing" together. Typically, children this age don't like the camera, but Miss M was not typical. She was very sweet and cooperative and just so darn cute. She's a smart little girl too! I enjoyed every minute of her!

Baby "L"

Those eyes!! I just can't get enough of them. Little "L" was just so funny and cute. He has this deep, little giggle that just made everyone smile. He was happy (except when we put him in the grass) and seem to enjoy "playing" with us. I just love photographing this kid!

This little guy is just so special. He was so happy and easy going, although he's definitely a daddy's boy. It was chilly and a little wet from the rain the night before but Little C didn't seem to mind at all. Thanks to the "T" family for letting me photograph your family.

Sweet Baby N

If I could go back in time, I would go back to when my children were just days old. This is such a sweet, special time that I miss. This session with Baby N made me want to hold my children at that age again. He was just so sweet and soft and just a good baby (and just barely a week old). Now don't get me wrong, there was some pooping and peeing (on Dad!!) but that's just what babies do. I love photographing newborns. Thanks E and P for allowing me to document this special time in your lives.

Boys!

Maybe it's because I have one of my own, but I just love little blue-eyed, blonde-headed boys! These little guys were just fun! Two brothers and a cousin and they were very busy, all three of them. We really had a good time climbing trees, walking down to the lake and just being boys (and seeing a snake and a dead squirrel too! How exciting!) Sweet Baby T

Baby T was just so happy and had the biggest smile. Being the youngest of 4 boys has definitely made this little guy flexible. He was happy for most of the session and even took a short little nap for us. I just LOVE sleeping baby pictures! Big brother (number 3) was there to help and joined in for a few shots. We were lucky to get this session in since the good ole weather man said we were going to have storms. It was actually sunny but very windy. The rain came later. Thanks to the W family for letting me take pictures of 2 of your sweet kids.

I really enjoyed my time with E and P at their maternity session. They were both so laid back and relaxed and we had fun joking around. E (mom) was absolutely beautiful and P (dad) even had to comment on how gorgeous she looked. I can't wait to photograph their baby when he arrives. I just know he's going to be beautiful...just look at his parents!! Thanks, E and P, for welcoming me into your home and allowing me to capture this special time in your lives.

Birthday Party!!

I had the privilege of photographing Little Miss A's first birthday party. The day was beautiful and so was Miss A. She smiled and was happy through most of the party and seemed to enjoy her friends. Miss A loved her cake and was not afraid to get messy. Her mom and dad worked hard to make this day special. She's such a big girl now! Thanks to Miss A's family for allowing me to photograph this special day.

It's just not fair that Baby P can have such long beautiful eyelashes and I don't (click on the first picture and you'll see what I mean). I just love this little guy. I've been taking pictures of him since he was a newborn. Actually, before he was born since I did his mommy's maternity pictures. He has grown so much but is still the happy, sweet baby he has always been. We had a good time and the weather was beautiful. I'm so honored to have captured Baby P's first year!

I just love newborns! They are so much fun to photograph. Here's my latest newborn, Baby H. He was so cute and wide-eyed and really fought going to sleep for us. But, he finally succumbed and then slept so soundly. He just couldn't give it up! But we got some great shots of this little guy and I think mommy and daddy are going to be pleased. Welcome to my new photography Blog! I am so excited to introduce so many new things happening with Edie Black Photography. I've had a successful 2007 and want to continue through 2008. I've made some changes that I know you all will be excited about. I've listed them below so check them out. But first, I've been so blessed with many wonderful clients. Please check out my slideshow of some of my sessions from 2007 (it takes a few minutes to load). And thank you to all my current clients for a great year!

2007 Slideshow

1. New Website!! First, some of you may have already visited my new and improved website but if you haven't then you need to check it out. I've added lots of new images and changed up my colors a bit. It was hard work but I'm excited about all the changes.

2. Session Fee - You will notice when you visit the site that the session fee has changed to $150. But, the good news is if you order within one week of your slideshow being posted then you can use $50 as a print credit. So actually, my session fee hasn't really changed and that's good news for you.

3. Belly & Babies - I'm also excited about introducing my new session combination called Belly & Babies. It's a combined session fee of $225 for a maternity and newborn session. That's a $75 savings. So if you are pregnant or have any friends or family who are expecting check out my website for the maternity and newborn information. These sessions make a great gift for a new mom to be and I do offer gift certificates.

4. Collections - Another exciting addition to Edie Black Photography is my collections. I have raised the price of some of my a la carte items but with these collections you can get a great discount, as well as albums and collages at a reduced price. Collections will save you money and hopefully help you in choosing your prints.

Okay, hang with me cause there is more...

5. Framing - One of the things I'm most excited about is I am now offering framing. I have joined with an excellent framing company that has gorgeous frames in all styles. I can come to you with my samples and we can choose your print AND your frame at the same time. If you are anything like me, I'll have a print ready to be framed and it will sit there for weeks. You can now do one stop shopping with me and your prints will come to you ready to hang on your wall.

6. In-person ordering - I will also be offering in-person ordering sessions. I will come to you and help you decide which prints and their sizes will best fit your home. Sometimes looking at all your proofs can be overwhelming and I can help you organize your thoughts and choose the ones that will really make you happy.

7. Home Portrait Parties - This is where you can invite 8-10 friends to come to your home and have their children's portraits made. There is no session fee and the hostess (you) will benefit from the print sales. Please call or email me for more information. Dates are limited since I only do these once a month, so book your party now.

Whew!! That was a lot of info but I did want to say one thing that won't change is my devotion to making great images of you and your family. I am still very passionate about capturing your family's life in pictures. I will still be offering the best quality prints and hopefully the best customer service I can provide. That's my promise!!
